03 Nov Vootie Productions
Vootie Productions was created in 1990 by Tom and Bridget Garnsey in response to the lack of live music opportunities that existed at the time in Southwest Montana. Raised on a steady diet of concerts and festivals the pair concluded that if the Northern Rockies were ever to experience high quality live music, it was up to them to make it happen. Vootie was born.
After a handful of very successful club shows, Vootie began booking theaters and outdoor venues throughout Montana and Wyoming with higher profile acts like Los Lobos, Lyle Lovett, Michelle Shocked and The Band to overwhelming response. The company’s success was in no small part due to attention to proper venue choices, superior sound/lighting as well artist amenities and customer relations. It’s no surprise that Vootie has established long term relationships with dozens of artists, manager and agents over a twenty year span. An extremely loyal and supportive customer fan base has also been cultivated so that the words “Vootie Presents” have become synonymous with great music and professional execution of events.
Over the next ten years Vootie produced over 500 shows ranging in scope from 200 seats to 8,000 and featuring a who’s who of national recording artists in Rock, Folk, Blues, Bluegrass, Reggae, World Music and Jazz. Bob Dylan, Emmylou Harris, Taj Mahal, David Grisman Quintet, Dave Matthews Band, John Prine, Alison Krauss and Union Station, Hot Tuna, Ratdog, The Wailers, Steel Pulse, Bela Fleck, Jimmy Cliff, Branford Marsalis, REM, Widespread Panic and Phish are just a handful of the successful events produced during this period. Many have returned many times to this very receptive music market.
